Description |
"It Isn't Easy Being a Cuckoo" is a fun set of four pieces that span music history over seven centuries. Many composers have used the minor 3rd call of the cuckoo. The cuckoo bird has been treated badly, though. It has been associated with lunatics and guess what a group of cuckoos is called: an asylum. Too bad, really, because their distinctive song is a favorite musical motive. The sheet music comes with score and parts and was arranged by John Gibson.
Selections: "Sumer is icumen in" - anon. "Allegretto from Capriccio on the Cuckoo's Call" - Frescobaldi "The Cuckoo's Courtship Waltz" - Sofge "In Praise of Higher Understanding" - Mahler |
