| Brahms wrote the Serenade #2 in A Major for winds and strings, minus the violins. Due to the instrumentation, the winds carry most of the melodies and make this a perfect piece to transcribe for all winds. This is the Scherzo movement set for woodwind quintet (flute, oboe, clarinet, horn, and bassoon). Not a long piece, but it moves along at a fast clip. Not easy music, but accessible. |
